Significant Others: How Animals Matter as part of Children’s Everyday Life Communities

Paulina Rautio’s currently emerging project will explore child—animal relations, focusing on how these relations come about, evolve, challenge normative cultural categories and, above all, matter to children in their daily lives. Researchers will engage in duo-ethnographies with participating children that seek to explore child—animal relations beyond the hegemony of developmental rationales.
