Rethinking our Place in the World with Children of the Anthropocene

Affrica Taylor is leading a new Australian/Canadian project to develop a collective method for rethinking our place in the world beyond the limits of the nature/culture divide. The project will trial an experimental collective walking method with young children in their local common world environments. It aims to tap into children’s capacity to ‘think collectively in the presence of [nonhuman] others’ as they walk (Stengers, 2005). Through photographing, filming, drawing and performing their encounters with non-human others on these walks, the children will produce ‘common accounts’ of the world they coinhabit.
